Oakwood offers a wide variety of golf programs and events for you and your family.
LADIES 9 & 18 HOLE GROUPS
Tuesday mornings are ladies day at Oakwood. Depending on the time of the year, ladies tee off at either 8:30 a.m. or 9:00 a.m. The season starts with an Opening Day & Luncheon in April; Guest Days with Luncheons throughout the season and a Closing Day & Luncheon in early fall.
INTRA-CLUB LEAGUE (Wednesday Nights)
Members sign up individually and teams are drawn randomly at the Team Reveal Party in early May. Each team has 8 - 12 players on the roster with only 4 players playing in each league night. Each league night has a different format designed to earn points for your team. The league finale takes place in late August. A great way to meet other members!
JUNIOR GOLF PROGRAM
Our golf pros offer after school clinics in the spring and fall as well as a 5-week program during the summer. The summer program includes all aspects of the game from the grip through the full swing. There is a different emphasis on each week including full swing, short game, putting, golf rules and etiquette. In addition to the clinics each week, children enjoy a play day where they get to put all of their newly acquired skills to the test.
Juniors also have the opportunity to earn points throughout the year through our Junior Points System. Points are earned by completing various challenges and activities. These can cover everything from rules to going and playing the course on their own. Points are attainable from Memorial Day through Labor Day Weekend. The points system will determine rewards from the completion of tasks as well as end of the year awards and Junior Player of the Year.
Other junior events - Junior Golf Day at the Royals; Junior Club Championship and Junior Olympics.
PARENT-CHILD EVENTS
Twice during the season on a Sunday afternoon, a parent-child tournament takes place featuring a 3, 6 and 9 hole format.
MEMBER-GUEST TOURNAMENTS
The Men's Member-Guest, The Knickerbocker, takes place in June and features a practice day with Opening Cocktail Party, and two days of golf ending with a Steak & Lobster Buffet.
The Ladies Member-Guest, The Acorn, takes place the third week of June and features two days of golf ending with an Awards Luncheon.
COUPLES TWILIGHT GOLF
Twice during the season, we feature a couples event that includes 9 holes of golf followed by appetizers, drinks and fabulous buffet.
CLINICS
Clinics take place May through August on Thursday evenings and Saturday afternoons. These are available to both men and women.
